|The Family Manager tool enhances the user's ability to upload, update, export or edit family components with a few quick steps, populating the 3D model with the family instances that the user needs.
It allows users to choose which families and types they want to load into the project, giving them the opportunity to select multiple components in different categories and make sure that the project file is not increasing in size due to importing several types of the same instances.
The database is structured depending on families and filter/ refresh operations are allowed.
|More families can be loaded or deleted in the database family manager. For example, for adding a door family, the default root to the family library in Revit is C:ProgramDataAutodeskRVT 20xxLibraries. Adding families in the family manager database won't increase the file's size. (TOP TIP)|
|After selecting the families that you want to load into the database, the family manager will give you a preview of each family in order to add it to your Revit project. The next window shows different types of the same family instance (ex.: dimensions) that you want to use in the project, and instead of loading several types that are not needed, you can choose the type that you are going to use. After the loading has completed you will be able to use the elements into the project.|
